Me, very enthusiastically: Y! Can I pray for your ankle?Even though outwardly I seemed real confident, I must admit I was very relieved when she testified her ankle was better, haha. Y seemed both amazed and freaked out by what happened - the kind of reaction David Blaine's magic tricks get - but I explained to her it was God who healed, not me. She probably thought I was really weird when I told her "This is fun! We do this in church!" and grinned :D But I'm glad she got a glimpse of what our God can do!
Y: Har? What?
Me: I want to pray for your ankle to be healed.
Y: (looking very puzzled) HAR? HOW?
Me: Watch la, I'm gonna show you how! (I squat beside her ankle, lay hands, close my eyes and begin praying before she can respond.) Dear God, I pray that you'll heal Y's ankle now as I pray. Take away all the pain so she can walk properly and won't even have to go to the Chinese physician. I know You are a God who heals. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen! (to Y) There, see! It's that simple.
Y: Um... so now what?
Me: Test it out!
(Y tries standing on her ankle and moving it about.)
Y: Oh my God! Oh my God oh my God! How did you do that? It's a lot better! It's really a lot better! Oh my God that is so FREAKY! You know, as you prayed, I could feel something loosen inside!
They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?"When our first prayer for healing doesn't result in complete healing, we can press in and pray again for whatever it is to be fully healed in Jesus' name :)
He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around."
Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
